Tony will be chairing the panel session focused on The Internet and Social Inclusion.
This session will focus on “how local authorities and their service delivery partners can empower people and connect communities through technology and innovation”.
Therefore this will embrace concepts such as next generation connectivity, independent living, flexible working, councils collaborating (perhaps in terms of shared services) and council departments working better together.
The session is also likely to touch on how EU initiatives (such as i2010) are impacting councils. Moreover the EU is likely to have to introduce the next phase after i2010 next year…what will it be?
